Description
The one-colored becard is sexually dimorphic. The male is black with a grey underside while the female is cinnamon with a buff underside.

One-colored Becard primarily eat insects and fruits, foraging in the treetops. Unique dietary habits include a preference for certain fruiting trees and a skilled capture of insects in mid-air or on foliage.
Habitat
The one-colored Becard is typically associated with the canopies and borders of a range of forest types, from humid to dry, including deciduous woodlands. They are also found in regions where there are forest clearings with large trees, secondary and gallery woodlands, as well as in disturbed, semi-open arid woodlands and xeric scrublands that feature sporadic tall trees. The one-colored Becard generally inhabits areas up to 1000 meters above sea level, although they have been spotted at elevations around 1500 meters, particularly in regions like Chimborazo, Ecuador.
