Description
The red-faced guan (Penelope dabbenei) is a species of bird in the family Cracidae. It is found in the border region of northern Argentina and in the southern border region of Bolivia. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Habitat
The red-faced Guan is found in vast cloud forests with a prevalence of large trees including cedars, Eugenia, and Blepharocalyx. It inhabits higher forest elevations with alders, Podocarpus parlatorei, and Tabebuia lapacho, and is occasionally present in Polylepis woods. Adapted to the eastern Andes region, the species thrives in secondary growth rich with bamboo and smaller forest patches, without being bound to specific altitudes.
