Description
The long-tailed minivet (Pericrocotus ethologus) is a species of bird in the family Campephagidae. It is found in southern and south-eastern Asia where it occurs in Afghanistan, Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Laos, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Long-tailed Minivet primarily consumes insects like orthopterans and beetles, as well as spiders, acacia buds, and fruits. Feeding behavior includes gleaning in tree canopies, aerial sallies, and hovering by flowers, sometimes forming large flocks when not breeding.
Habitat
The habitat of long-tailed Minivet encompasses a wide variety of open forests, such as broadleaf and coniferous (specifically pine) forests, as well as lighter forested areas and forest fringes. Additionally, during wintertime and in areas of significant deforestation, long-tailed Minivet can be observed in groves, amidst agricultural lands with scattered trees, and along roadsides lined with trees.
