Description
The orange minivet (Pericrocotus flammeus) is a species of bird in the cuckooshrike family, Campephagidae. It is found in Sri Lanka and the western coast of India. Its natural habitats are temperate forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest. It was formerly considered a subspecies of the scarlet minivet.

Feeding Habits
Orange Minivet predominantly consumes invertebrates. Active during the day, it adeptly forages in the foliage using keen sight and agility to capture prey, showcasing specialized hunting skills unique to its species.
Habitat
The orange Minivet is typically found in a range of forested habitats, including temperate forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. These birds favor broadleaf evergreen, semi-evergreen, and deciduous forests. They can also be found in peat swamp forests and orchards, provided that there is sufficient cover of tall trees. While they are associated with hills and mountainous regions, they are known to inhabit elevations up to 2100 meters, but in Peninsular Malaysia, they are usually found below 915 meters.
