Feeding Habits
Dusky-throated Hermit primarily feeds on nectar and small arthropods. Specific feeding studies are lacking, but such dietary habits suggest adaptation to a specialized nectarivorous lifestyle, with arthropod consumption supplementing their diet.
Habitat
The dusky-throated Hermit primarily inhabits the understorey of humid coastal and adjacent montane forests, as well as dense secondary growth. These environments are characterized by moist, lush vegetation and a relatively stable climate, providing shelter and resources that the dusky-throated Hermit requires for foraging and nesting.
