   Description
 The white-whiskered hermit (Phaethornis yaruqui) is a hummingbird that is found in Colombia and Ecuador.

    Habitat 
  White-whiskered Hermit typically inhabits the dense undergrowth of humid pre-montane and montane forests. This species is well-adapted to thriving in secondary growth and shrubby areas, often found within lush plantation landscapes as well. While white-whiskered Hermit can be found at elevations up to 2000 meters, they predominantly occupy regions below 1200 meters, where the environment provides ample food sources and shelter.
