Description
The rufous-rumped foliage-gleaner (Philydor erythrocercum) is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, French Guiana, Guyana, Peru, and Suriname. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Rufous-rumped Foliage-gleaner predominantly feeds on arthropods like spiders, various insects including Orthoptera and Coleoptera, and other small invertebrates. It forages alone or in pairs, often joining mixed-species flocks, and specializes in dead-leaf gleaning. Rufous-rumped Foliage-gleaner exhibits acrobatic skills to extract prey from leaves and debris, frequently targeting the undersides of branches and vine stems.
Habitat
Rufous-rumped Foliage-gleaner typically resides in tropical lowland evergreen forests, primarily on terra firme, and is occasionally found in várzea floodplain forests. This species is also present in montane evergreen forests within broader Andean regions.
