Description
Hodgson's redstart (Phoenicurus hodgsoni) is a species of bird in the family Muscicapidae. It is found in Bhutan, China, India, Myanmar, and Nepal. Its natural habitat is temperate forests. It is a winter visitor in the Himalayas.

Hodgson's Redstart consumes insects and berries, foraging through short flights from perches and catching flying insects in midair.
Habitat
Hodgson's Redstart inhabits varied montane landscapes, including wooded hills, slopes dotted with poplar and pine trees, and grassy plateaux with scattered bushes. It is typically found in areas with scrub, grass, and meadows within mixed forest tracts of mountains, and in upland valleys, frequently near freshwater bodies like streams and rivers, and occasionally in proximity to stone structures. During the non-breeding season, hodgson's Redstart occupies partly dry riverbeds, open scrub jungle, and the peripheries of agricultural land.
