Feeding Habits
Smoky Warbler predominantly feeds on small insects and larvae, foraging alone or in pairs. They hunt low in vegetation or on the ground, adept at clambering over rocks or boulders and occasionally hovering over water to catch prey. Their skulking behavior in thickets accompanies frequent wing and tail flicking.
Habitat
The smoky Warbler's habitat encompasses alpine meadows and scrub, typically characterized by the presence of dwarf juniper and other low-growing vegetation in rugged environments with rocks and boulders. During non-breeding seasons, the smoky Warbler can be found in lower plains, favoring tall grasslands and dense undergrowth, often near water sources such as stream banks.
