Description
The large-billed leaf warbler (Phylloscopus magnirostris) is a species of leaf warbler (family Phylloscopidae). It was formerly included in the "Old World warbler" assemblage. Breeding in central China and the Himalayas, it winters in the Western Ghats and associated hill ranges. It is found in dense vegetation and is more often heard than seen. The two note dir-tee call with the second note much higher is distinctive. They call often and at regular intervals.

Feeding Habits
Large-billed Leaf Warbler primarily consumes small insects and larvae. They forage alone, often in the upper canopy and along tree branches, showing less activity compared to similar species.
Habitat
Large-billed Leaf Warbler typically resides in dense evergreen forests with an abundance of birch, silver fir, and rhododendron vegetation, often in proximity to water bodies like streams or rivers. Additionally, large-billed Leaf Warbler can inhabit areas with willows, on the fringes of cultivated land, within wooded ravines, and in open spaces amidst mixed or deciduous woodlands. During non-breeding seasons, large-billed Leaf Warbler is also found in lowland evergreen forests and areas with large, shady trees.
