Feeding Habits
Plain Leaf Warbler's diet consists predominantly of small insects and larvae, with a foraging behavior characterized by agility in upper tree foliage, bushes, and low vegetation. During winter, plain Leaf Warbler forages solo, switching to paired foraging in summer. It feeds by plucking prey from leaves or midair and exhibits frequent wing flicking, distinctly not dipping its tail.
Habitat
The plain Leaf Warbler predominantly inhabits forested regions, thriving in oak and juniper forests with underbrush, as well as alpine meadows interspersed with shrubs and rose bushes. During migration, the species is adaptable to various scrub and bushy environments, including river valleys, orchards, and urban parks. In the winter, plain Leaf Warblers frequent forested river valleys, orchards, and a variety of other tree-dominated landscapes, such as those with tamarisk and acacia, expanding their range into more arid areas.
