Habitat
The fine-barred Piculet typically inhabits river edge forests and secondary forests. Its environment includes areas adjacent to terra firme forests with a prevalence of Guadua bamboo. While bamboo's significance to the fine-barred Piculet is ambiguous, it is a notable aspect of its habitat in certain geographical zones. The bird favors regions with a confluence of these ecological characteristics, primarily in broader tropical parts of South America.
