Description
 The crimson-hooded manakin (Pipra aureola) is a species of bird in the family Pipridae. It is found in Brazil, French Guiana, Guyana, Suriname, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical swampland and heavily degraded former forest. It is the northernmost member of the genus Pipra. It forms a superspecies with both the Band-tailed Manakin (Pipra fasciicauda) and the Wire-tailed Manakin (Pipra filicauda).

  Feeding Habits 
  Crimson-hooded Manakin primarily consumes small fruits from Araceae plants, as well as insects and spiders. Food is typically gathered through aerial sallies and plucking from perches. 
    Habitat 
  Crimson-hooded Manakin primarily inhabits various dense forest environments, including swampy and seasonally flooded forests, as well as underbrush in secondary growth areas. It is also found in mangrove ecosystems and woodland along waterways, preferring regions that feature white-sand terrain and forested areas.
