Feeding Habits
Rose-throated Tanager predominantly consumes fruits, supplementing its diet by following army-ants for opportunistic feeding on insects. It engages in foraging and utilizes unique tactics to exploit ant swarms. Distinctive preferences for fruit help differentiate its diet from others.

The rose-throated Tanager primarily inhabits the edges of semi-humid to humid forests and areas with dense scrubby undergrowth. This species can also adapt to more open areas that feature scattered trees and shrubby vegetation.
