Feeding Habits
The diet of white-crested Spadebill consists primarily of small arthropods, such as Hemiptera bugs and Fulgoridae family homopterans. White-crested Spadebill forages by perching 2–5 meters above vegetation, then either swiftly scooping prey from leaf undersides or relocating to a new perch over a meter away.
Habitat
The white-crested Spadebill typically resides in the open understorey of humid terra firme forests, favoring regions with sandy soils. These birds inhabit broader tropical areas mostly at lower elevations, thriving in environments that offer a combination of humidity and accessible understorey vegetation.
