Description
The streaked weaver (Ploceus manyar) is a species of weaver bird found in South Asia and South-east Asia in the countries of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Cambodia, China, Egypt, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Nepal, Pakistan, Singapore, Sri Lanka, Thailand, Vietnam and also introduced in Qatar and United Arab Emirates (UAE). These are not as common as the baya weaver but are similar looking but have streaked underparts. They nest in small colonies often in reed beds near water bodies.

Feeding Habits
Streaked Weaver's diet mainly consists of seeds from grasses, rice, wheat, millet, and sorghum; fledglings eat insects and small invertebrates. Forages in flocks, sometimes with other weavers, showing a preference for communal feeding grounds and roosts.

The habitat of streaked Weaver typically includes wetlands, such as marshes and swamps, where reedbeds and rice paddies prevail. These areas often contain robust vegetation like bulrushes (Typha), and are commonly associated with dense stands of elephant grass, providing both food and nesting materials.
