Description
The black-bibbed tit (Poecile hypermelaenus) is a species of bird in the tit family Paridae. It is found from central and eastern China to southeast Tibet and western Myanmar.
Feeding Habits
Black-bibbed Tit mainly eats small invertebrates, berries, and seeds. They forage alone or in groups, scouring various habitat levels, from treetops to underbrush. Actively picking through foliage and stripping moss or lichen, black-bibbed Tit also searches ground debris for insects.
Habitat
Black-bibbed Tit typically dwells in coniferous forests, including habitats dominated by pine, spruce, fir, and occasionally rhododendron. It is also found in open broadleaf evergreen forests, regenerating forests with evergreen shrubs, and forest edges. Additionally, black-bibbed Tit may inhabit deep gorges, high plateau conifer areas, and during colder seasons, can disperse to plains from mountainous regions. This bird favors regions with a mixture of forest types, rather than being confined to a single forest composition.
