Description
The slaty-headed tody-flycatcher (Poecilotriccus sylvia) is a species of bird in the family Tyrannidae, and one of twelve in the genus Poecilotriccus. It is found in Belize, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, French Guiana, Guatemala, Guyana, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forest, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest, and heavily degraded former forest.

Feeding Habits

Habitat
Slate-headed Tody-flycatcher predominantly inhabits dense thickets and shrubby areas along forest edges, as well as tangled secondary growth within overgrown pastures and clearings. They can also be found in the understory of gallery forests and dry woodlots. Geographically, slate-headed Tody-flycatcher occupies a range of habitats in lowland regions up to elevations of 1100 meters. This bird species adapts well to overgrown roadsides and vine-rich environments.
