Description
The white-lored gnatcatcher (Polioptila albiloris) is a species of bird in the family Polioptilidae. It is found in Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, and Nicaragua. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.

Feeding Habits
White-lored Gnatcatcher primarily consumes a varied diet of insects such as beetles, bugs, leafhoppers, small moths, and caterpillars, as well as spiders. It showcases unique foraging behavior by actively searching amongst foliage and tree barks, adeptly adapting to capture its prey.
Habitat
White-lored Gnatcatcher typically inhabits arid to semi-arid tropical regions characterized by scrublands, thorn-forests, tropical deciduous woodlands, and areas with secondary growth vegetation. Preferentially, this species is found along the edges of these habitats rather than in dense, taller forest interiors. It occupies several primary ecoregions including dry forests and thorn-scrubs within broad Central American territories, thriving generally at elevations below 1000 meters.
