Description
The black-throated prinia (Prinia atrogularis) is a species of bird in the family Cisticolidae. It is found from eastern Nepal, through Bangladesh to Eastern India (Arunachal Pradesh). It was formerly considered conspecific with the hill prinia.

Habitat
The habitat of black-throated Prinia encompasses open grassy hillsides and mountainsides with a mixture of scrub and scattered shrubs, as well as forest clearings with bracken or similar dense vegetation. These birds are also found in open pine forests, terraced fields, and areas with rank vegetation near human settlements. Broadly, they prefer landscapes with some degree of cover, which can range from scrubby forest to cultivated regions, often with a predilection for clearings over dense woodland.
