Description
The yellow-bellied prinia (Prinia flaviventris) is a species of bird in the family Cisticolidae. It is found in Pakistan, the southern Himalayan foothills, the northeastern Indian subcontinent, and Southeast Asia.

Yellow-bellied Prinia, an insectivorous bird, primarily indulges in various insects, employing active foraging methods throughout the day. It exhibits unique dietary preferences for certain invertebrates, leading to a distinct ecological niche.
Habitat
The yellow-bellied Prinia is typically found in a range of wetland and grassland habitats, from reedbeds with tall grasses like Phragmites and Typha to riverine floodplains, marshes, and the grassy areas beside paddy fields, canals, lakes, and rivers. Occasionally, it inhabits drier regions, including grassy forest edges, tea plantation fringes, and bushy hillsides. Even mangrove edges and overgrown cultivation areas provide a suitable environment for the yellow-bellied Prinia. This species can be found from sea level up to altitudes of 1530 meters.
