Feeding Habits
Hill Prinia's diet consists mostly of insects and their larvae. Foraging alone or in groups, hill Prinia actively searches through grass and vegetation, often appearing hyperactive with pronounced tail movements. When disturbed, hill Prinia makes a short, low flight before disappearing back into cover.
Habitat
The hill Prinia inhabits a variety of environments, predominantly found in scrublands, clearings, and open, dry woodland areas with grassy undergrowth. It is also present in cultivated regions, dwarf moss forests, and, in specific races, upper montane elfin forests and sparse heath vegetations. Generally, the species prefers territories with both grasses and sedges as well as areas rich in epiphytes.
