The white-crested helmetshrike (Prionops plumatus), also known as the white helmetshrike, is a species of passerine bird in the Vanga family Vangidae, formerly usually included in the Malaconotidae.

Habitat
The white-crested Helmetshrike lives in subtropical to tropical dry forests, savannas, and shrublands within broadleaf woodlands rich in Baikiaea and Brachystegia trees. It adapts to diverse environments from forest edges to urban gardens, showing a preference for burned areas for foraging. Typically found below 1500 meters, it can inhabit altitudes up to 2200 meters.
