Description
It is 47 cm long and weighs 322 g. It has a black mask on its face, and has a mainly bright green body. The center of its breast is yellow, turning into orange towards the abdomen. The outer webs of the primary fathers on the wing are blue or purple. Its tail feathers are green, and washed with blue.

Feeding Habits
Masked Shining Parrot primarily feeds on seeds, fruits like wild figs, cultivated fruits such as Inocarpus fagiferus, guavas, mangoes, banana palm flowers, caterpillars, and ripening grain. Renowned for varied foraging tactics and preferences for certain fruits.
Habitat
The masked Shining Parrot predominantly inhabits mature and secondary growth forests, thriving on the fringes of human habitation such as village outskirts. These parrots are also accustomed to the unique ecosystems of mangroves and make frequent use of subsistence gardens, illustrating a remarkable adaptability to varied plant communities and landscape alterations within broad geographical tropical regions.
