Description
The Altai accentor (Prunella himalayana) is a species of bird in the family Prunellidae. It is also known as the rufous-streaked accentor or Himalayan accentor. It breeds in the Altai Mountains of western mongolia; it winters in the southern Tian Shan and Himalayan ranges.

Feeding Habits
Altai Accentor consumes mostly invertebrates during summer and supplements its diet with seeds and berries in winter. It feeds nestlings with diverse prey, including flies, moths, beetles, grasshoppers, spiders, and snails. It forages on the ground in a crouched manner and can be seen in large flocks in winter, at times with other bird species.
Habitat
Altai Accentor predominantly occupies alpine meadows and bare rocky hillsides that are sparsely vegetated during the summer season. In the winter, altai Accentor shifts to grassy, rocky slopes and valleys that offer a milder climate, yet it continues to favor habitats with similar open and rocky characteristics found in its summer range.
