Description
The rose-ringed Parakeet is a very common sight in tropical climates and a variety of environments throughout the world. These colorful birds are popular as pets but can become a threatening invasive species to non-native ecosystems. They eat fruits, nuts, seeds, and grains, and can become serious pests to farmers. These birds are very vocal and very loud and come in several subspecies.

Feeding Habits
Rose-ringed Parakeet's diet includes buds, fruits, nuts, berries, and seeds. They forage in flocks, often in farmlands and orchards, causing damage. They adapt seasonally, eating grains, pigeon peas, mulberry, and dates, and foraging from sunflower and corn fields.
Habitat
The rose-ringed Parakeet is typically found in a diverse range of habitats, predominantly in deciduous environments. It thrives in semi-desert to mild, secondary jungles and favors open landscapes such as short-grass savannas and semi-desert grasslands. The rose-ringed Parakeet is adaptable and can be located in wooded valleys, savanna woodlands, alongside rivers, and within evergreen forests. It is also common in cultivated areas, including gardens, orchards, agricultural lands with scattered trees, and even around grain storages in more urbanized settings. Geographically, the rose-ringed Parakeet resides in broad regions spanning lowlands to elevated areas, reaching up to 1600 meters in Asia and approximately 2000 meters in Ethiopia.
