Description
The white-breasted parrotbill (Psittiparus ruficeps) is a bird species often placed with the Old World babblers (family Timaliidae) or in a distinct family Paradoxornithidae, but it actually seems to belong to the Sylviidae. It is found in Eastern Himalaya, Myanmar, Laos and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It was formerly considered conspecific with the rufous-headed parrotbill.

Feeding Habits
White-breasted Parrotbill consumes insects like beetles, seeds from millet and rice, and berries. It forages by clambering on twigs and branches, sometimes hanging upside-down, and often feeds in small groups or with other species. White-breasted Parrotbill exhibits territoriality, especially males responding to song playbacks.
Habitat
The habitat of white-breasted Parrotbill typically consists of bamboo thickets adjacent to broadleaf evergreen forests and forest edges. These birds are also found in dense reed thickets and mixed grasses near riverbanks, as well as in reed beds and areas with elephant grass. They inhabit regions characterized by these environmental conditions across broader geographical areas.
