Feeding Habits
Ivory-billed Aracari primarily feeds on various fruits like Ficus and Cecropia, occasionally indulging in flycatching. Often foraging in small groups at canopy levels, they display a notable escape response from fruiting trees when larger species approach.
Habitat
The ivory-billed Aracari predominantly inhabits lush lowland rainforests and mountain foothill environments, with a preference for seasonally flooded forests and terra firme wet forests. These birds adapt well to early-to-middle successional habitats near water sources, including river islands and areas with fluctuating watercourses. Secondary forests, riverine foliage, and forest edges also constitute significant parts of their habitat range.
