Feeding Habits
Grey-streaked Honeyeater consumes arthropods, fruit, and nectar. It forages from the understorey to the canopy, including shrub edges. Gleaning, probing, and occasionally sallying characterize its feeding behaviors. Unique behaviors include probing Dimorphanthera flowers from below and hanging upsidedown. Grey-streaked Honeyeater is active, unwary, often solitary, or in pairs.
Habitat
The grey-streaked Honeyeater's habitat includes upper mid-montane and montane primary forests with varying densities, moss forests, forest edges, and regions where stunted trees merge into alpine grasslands. It also inhabits alpine and subalpine shrublands. The grey-streaked Honeyeater is generally associated with highland regions characterized by a rich presence of trees and shrubs and is quite adaptable within its mountainous range, avoiding lower altitudes typically occupied by closely related species.
