 Description
 
  The brown-breasted bulbul (Pycnonotus xanthorrhous) is a songbird in the family Pycnonotidae. The species was first described by John Anderson in 1869.It is found in south-eastern Asia from central and southern China to Myanmar and northern Thailand.

  Brown-breasted Bulbul primarily consumes fruit, seeds, and insects, with observed feeding on Heptapleurum, carmine cherry, and wild raspberry in Myanmar. This bulbul species displays diverse foraging techniques, including plucking from various plants. 
    Habitat 
  The habitat of brown-breasted Bulbul encompasses secondary growth areas, scrublands, tall grasslands, gardens, and thickets, often favoring environments with streamside vegetation. These birds show a preference for bramble-covered hillsides and locales with bracken, typically featuring a mix of openness and scattered trees. They generally inhabit regions characterized by a montane ecosystem, where they are adapted to a certain degree of vegetative density but are not found in the densest or tallest vegetation layers.
