Description
The blue-and-white Swallow is a temperate species commonly found in open grasslands and farmlands and, in Central America, it is also common at high elevations. These birds are insectivores and will flock together around swarms of termites. Unfortunately, deforestation has started to affect wild populations, though the extent is unknown.

Feeding Habits
Blue-and-white Swallow primarily consumes flying insects. It adeptly catches prey mid-flight using agile aerial maneuvers. This diet includes a variety of flying insects, notably termites, highlighting its specialized hunting technique.
Habitat
The blue-and-white Swallow is commonly found in a variety of open habitats spanning from temperate grasslands and pasturelands to urban and suburban areas. This adaptability extends to arable lands and regions marked by heavily degraded former forests. Geographically, these birds have a broad distribution in subtropical and tropical zones. They are known for foraging in both rural and urban settings, frequently occurring in towns, agricultural fields, forest clearings, and near upland water bodies as well. While some populations display a preference for open lowland areas, others are found commonly in highland regions.
