Habitat
Maroon-tailed Parakeet typically resides in dense neotropical forests, including cloud forests and lowland wet forests within premontane zones. They inhabit areas with lush vegetation, often occurring at forest borders and in partially cleared regions that still provide ample tree cover. Maroon-tailed Parakeet is adapted to environments that feature seasonal fluctuations in water availability, such as the seasonally flooded (várzea) forests. The species' preference for these forested environments underscores its reliance on a habitat that supplies both food and shelter amidst the diverse flora of the broader neotropical region.
