Description
The silver-rumped spinetail (Rhaphidura leucopygialis) is a species of swift in the family Apodidae. It is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Myanmar, Singapore, and Thailand. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests.

Feeding Habits
Silver-rumped Spinetail forages mainly above 30 meters in forested areas, with a mean height of 40 meters, but drops to near watercourses. They feed actively in the evening, often alone or in small groups, except in Borneo where groups of up to 50 may form.
Habitat
The silver-rumped Spinetail typically inhabits primary and secondary growth forests, including peat swamps and plantations, within lowland regions. Often found near water, the species shows a preference for estuarine areas over freshwater in certain studies, while it is less frequently observed in proximity to human settlements.
