Feeding Habits
Black Fantail's diet consists primarily of insects like beetles and caterpillars. It forages mostly in lower vegetation, capturing prey largely through flycatching, augmented by some gleaning tactics, and sometimes feeds in mixed-species groups.
Habitat
The black Fantail primarily inhabits dense undergrowth within forests, as well as dense regrowth areas at the forest edges. These birds favor environments that are typically more vegetated and offer ample cover. Broadly, they are found across regions that experience such forest conditions, usually where other closely related species are not prevalent.
