Feeding Habits
Spotted Fantail primarily consumes small insects, especially flies and moths, along with spiders. It actively forages in the middle to upper levels of the forest, rarely going to the ground, and is known to sally after flying prey. Spotted Fantail is often found in mixed-species feeding groups.
Habitat
The habitat of spotted Fantail comprises primarily broadleaf evergreen forests, including both primary and mature secondary forests characterized by tall trees. These birds are less commonly found in secondary growth areas and are not typical inhabitants of lowland swamp forests. They are prevalent in lowland and foothill regions of broader geographical areas such as Borneo and Malaysia, generally preferring lower elevations within these territories.
