Feeding Habits
Olivaceous Flatbill predominantly consumes invertebrates, employing active foraging methods. Unique adaptations aid in hunting these prey, marking olivaceous Flatbill's diet as specialized within its habitat.
Habitat
Olivaceous Flatbill typically resides in subtropical or tropical moist lowland forests and swamps, with a preference for dense understory and midstory. This includes regions with bamboo, humid primary forests, and older secondary growths. While olivaceous Flatbill avoids extremely moist forests, it can be found in várzea forests, typically at elevations from sea level up to 600 meters, and occasionally up to 1100 meters in certain areas. The species is widespread in broader geographical regions with such habitats, but is notably absent from black-water and sandy-soil areas.
