Description
The white-throated tapaculo (Scelorchilus albicollis) is a species of bird in the family Rhinocryptidae. It is endemic to northern Chile. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry shrubland and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland.

The habitat of white-throated Tapaculo is characterized by arid regions with a tendency towards steep slopes. In the northern part of its range, it is found among open and sparsely distributed shrubs. Conversely, in the southern range, white-throated Tapaculo resides in dense matorral and sclerophyllous shrubs, typically accompanied by cacti. It infrequently appears along coastal areas.
