Description
The cinnamon tanager (Schistochlamys ruficapillus) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Argentina, Brazil, and Paraguay. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical dry forests, dry savanna, subtropical or tropical dry shrubland, and heavily degraded former forest.

The cinnamon Tanager predominantly inhabits scrublands and brushy regions within tropical deciduous forests, thriving especially in cerrado and caatinga biomes. These birds are also accustomed to residing at forest edges, riparian woodlands, and can be found in lower open areas such as parks. The cinnamon Tanager favors wetter sections within arid zones and often utilizes riparian woodland habitats, as well as second-growth scrub and white sand forests.
