Description
The grey-throated leaftosser (Sclerurus albigularis) is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It is found in Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, Panama, Peru, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Grey-throated Leaftosser primarily consumes insects like beetles, spiders, and cockroaches, as well as the occasional frog. This bird forages by flipping over leaf litter and digging into the ground, utilizing its unique bill shape to extract prey.
Habitat
Grey-throated Leaftosser is primarily found in montane and tropical lowland evergreen forests, preferring foothill and lower montane forest regions. This species thrives in shady ravines, which are common within its habitat range. Geographically, grey-throated Leaftosser is widespread throughout Central America and the Andean foothills, typically residing at elevations between 600 and 2000 meters. However, in the northeastern extent of its range, it can be found from as low as 50 meters up to 2200 meters above sea level.
