Description
The crested finchbill (Spizixos canifrons) is a species of songbird in the bulbul family, Pycnonotidae. It is found in south-eastern Asia from China and India to Indochina.

Feeding Habits
Crested Finchbill's diet includes seeds, like millet and grass, beans, peas, and fruit such as Leucospectrum in Myanmar, as well as insects like beetles, moths, and flies. Crested Finchbill forages at various heights and can catch insects in mid-flight. Outside breeding season, crested Finchbill forms flocks, often feeding on fruiting fig trees with other bulbuls.
Habitat
The crested Finchbill predominantly inhabits open and stunted evergreen and deciduous forests, as well as montane scrub. They favor areas with secondary growth and grasses, particularly those with clearings dense with bamboo and bramble thickets. This bird is commonly associated with montane and foothill regions, showing a preference for forested landscapes.
