 The grey seedeater (Sporophila intermedia) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador, Guyana, Trinidad and Tobago, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland and heavily degraded former forest.

  Feeding Habits 
  Grey Seedeater primarily feeds on Panicum grass seeds and forbs, occasionally consuming nectar and small arthropods during seed scarcity in the dry season. Grey Seedeater clings to stems and reaches for seedheads, occasionally making aerial sprints for flying insects. Grey Seedeater forages alone or in pairs, forming small flocks when not breeding. 
    Habitat 
  The grey Seedeater primarily inhabits grasslands and open shrubby areas within the tropical zone, showing adaptability to both urban environments and overgrown lots. Its preferred environs also encompass second growths, forest edges, and open regions, indicative of a versatility in occupying various lowland and foothill ecosystems often with a high degree of vegetation.
