 The plumbeous seedeater (Sporophila plumbea) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is found in Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, French Guiana, Guyana, Paraguay, Peru, Suriname, and Venezuela. Its natural habitats are dry savanna and subtropical or tropical seasonally wet or flooded lowland grassland.

  Plumbeous Seedeater primarily feed on seeds, with Andropogon grasses notable in their diet. They forage on the ground or perched on grass stems, either solitarily or in small to mixed-species flocks. 
    Habitat 
  The habitat of plumbeous Seedeater, commonly found in wet savannas and moist tropical grasslands, is characterized by an affinity for tall grasses and proximity to water or moist environments. They inhabit regions often at the edge of low forests adjacent to grasslands, open cerrado ecosystems, edges of riparian zones, and buriti palm groves, favoring areas with dense vegetation and easy access to water sources.
