Description
The scaly-feathered weaver (Sporopipes squamifrons), also known as the scaly-feathered finch, is a species of bird in the family Ploceidae.

Feeding Habits
Scaly Weaver primarily consumes small grass seeds, like Aristida and Schmidtia, and insects like termites. Foraging typically involves hopping on the ground; both seeds and insects are gathered this way. Notably, scaly Weaver can survive without water for up to 62 days.
Habitat
The scaly Weaver commonly inhabits arid acacia savannas, utilizing the scrub and bushes lining dry watercourses. They are also found in bushy areas close to human settlements. Their habitat preference excludes barren coastal deserts, such as those found in Namibia.
