Description
The grey-throated babbler (Stachyris nigriceps) is a species of bird in the family Timaliidae. It is found in Bangladesh, Bhutan, China, India, Indonesia, Laos, Malaysia, Myanmar, Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical moist montane forest.

Feeding Habits
Grey-throated Babbler primarily consumes insects like beetles and locustids, occasionally eating berries, seeds, and nectar. They forage in understory vegetation, particularly within dead leaves and ferns, often in groups of up to 20. Grey-throated Babbler stays near the ground during non-breeding seasons, typically associating with other babblers.
Habitat
The habitat of grey-throated Babbler includes primary and secondary evergreen broadleaf forests, areas with dense low secondary scrub, and bamboo thickets. Grey-throated Babbler is also found in the undergrowth of tree plantations and abandoned rice fields, commonly frequenting clearings and edges of dense forests. They are typically associated with subtropical to tropical regions across the broader Asian continent.
