Description
The black-throated babbler (Stachyris nigricollis) is a species of bird in the family Timaliidae. It is found in Brunei, Indonesia, Malaysia, Singapore, and Thailand. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist lowland forest and subtropical or tropical swampland. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Habitat
The black-throated Babbler typically inhabits undergrowth and edges of primary and secondary evergreen forests, including areas affected by selective and heavy logging. It is also found in various types of swamp forests, such as freshwater, peat, and occasionally tidal. The black-throated Babbler appears to be more numerous in logged regions and reverting plantations, including overgrown rubber and oil-palm plantations, as well as Albizia plantation scrubs. Its presence is occasional in riverine swamp forests and kerangas forests.
