Description
The tawny tit-spinetail (Sylviorthorhynchus yanacensis) is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It is found in Peru, Bolivia and far northwestern Argentina. Its natural habitats are subtropical or tropical moist montane forests and subtropical or tropical high-altitude shrubland. It is threatened by habitat loss.

The tawny Tit-spinetail thrives predominantly in Polylepis woodlands and, particularly in the southern part of its range, can often be found in montane scrub habitats. These scrublands are characterized by composite shrubbery, including a complex mix of Gynoxys, Ribes, Miconia, Escallonia, and other bush types, as well as Festuca grasslands.
