Description
The Apurímac spinetail (Synallaxis courseni) is a species of bird in the family Furnariidae. It is endemic to Peru. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests. It is threatened by habitat loss.

Apurimac Spinetail typically resides in higher elevation cloud forests and edges, as well as humid Podocarpus forests. These birds flourish in secondary growth around recovering clearings and landslides, favoring somewhat drier conditions compared to related species. Dense understory with an abundance of Chusquea bamboo is a characteristic feature of their habitat. Additionally, apurimac Spinetail is adapted to surviving in fragmented remnants of cloud forests amidst agricultural land.
