Gilt-edged Tanager's diet comprises fruits like melastome berries and Urtica, as well as insects. They hunt insects by hopping on twigs and inspecting foliage, resembling other SE Brazil forest-dwelling congeners.
Habitat
The gilt-edged Tanager is typically found in humid pre-montane forests and their borders, with a preference for primary woodland.
