Description
The brassy-breasted tanager (Tangara desmaresti) is a species of bird in the family Thraupidae. It is endemic to Brazil. Its natural habitat is subtropical or tropical moist montane forests.

Habitat
The brassy-breasted Tanager primarily occupies humid montane evergreen forests in the southeastern Atlantic Forest Region. It is typically found in the canopy layer, favoring small to medium-sized trees and shrubs, particularly those of the Melastomataceae family. This species also adapts to secondary woodlands and plantations.
