Feeding Habits
Malabar Woodshrike primarily consumes large insects and grubs. It forages in tree crowns and the understorey, occasionally descending to the ground, and is known for gleaning from foliage and making sallied pursuits. Malabar Woodshrike may join mixed-species flocks, often alongside minivets and drongos.
Habitat
Malabar Woodshrike typically resides in the peripheries and clearings of evergreen forests, preferring more humid woodland environments compared to its relative, T. pondicerianus. This species often occupies the midstorey and canopy levels of such forests, predominantly found in lowland areas, though generally below mid-elevation ranges in broader tropical regions.
